I could not agree more. As a huge inspiration Liz Sanders’ universe and research on co-creation and participatory design has been the foundation of my Masters Thesis in Design Management and MA in Design; Health and Wellbeing.
Right now I am working with a german physiotherapist, who is researching for a shared language between health professionals and designers/architects.
Liz Sanders work and papers on the subject could be a source for researching this interesting collaboration between health personnel and the work of creatives. A shared language could be a way of connecting the different thinking tools and disciplines – to create something valuable and unique to solve some of the complex problems in the health sector.
In my Masters Thesis in Design Management – I sat up criteria for others to be aware of when managing and practicing empathic design. A process who cannot stand alone without the insight from specialist and health personnel working or researching in the field. With the hypothesis that all people are creative Liz has built a toolbox, methods and techniques for non-designers to collaborate with designers as a process to create interesting and new solutions to challenge todays health sector.
